We have decided to stop Kumon lessons cos Sean finds it a chore to complete his daily Kumon homework. I personally like the Kumon method of drilling as I was brought up that way too. Shayne benefited from Kumon system. He is doing well. But since we are going to stop Sean's lessons; Shayne will stop too. They are very competitive, should Shayne continues, Sean will ask to go Kumon also.

Yesterday, while Sean and Faith were having their swimming lessons, my SIL told me that Sean confided in her that he has too many homework.... he is very unhappy. I was surprise to hear that....he does not bring it up to me. In the evening, my elder brother said that kids at this age should not be discussing about what homework is still outstanding but more to - what to play later. Furthermore, we stressed each other over the supervision and timely completion of their homework. Too bad, we paid Jul fees already.... have to forgo that $480 then. This weekend, Sean actually played more than previous weekends.
Well, Sean - this is for you. ""You at 5+, mommy knew that you are already well above many kids of your age. Dr Chan said that you are intelligent and constantly tells me to read loads and loads to you...which I am trying to. I have to manage my time between the three of you. Most of the time, you read and tell me about facts which you found from books, about the characteristics of each pokemon, about the solar system, about the red blood and blue blood circulating in our body, you just told me about all about vikings.... and many more to come. I may have push you so hard cos' I'm always comparing you to Faith. But from now, I am going to stop comparing. All the mistakes of parenting were learnt at your expense. Thank you for teaching me to be a better mommy each day. "
Ya, we seriously have to have more family time together. Most weekends, we are busy driving them to one enrichment after another. As what Sara always says...."STOP IT". She goes around telling her brothers to behave and at times disciplines Shayne.
Talking about Sara, papa has decided to place her in Little Fairyland. I never instigated that cos' I do not want to influence his choice in selecting a school for Sara. I totally stopped talking about LF altogether. Guess what, yesterday, he told me that since LF taught and prepared Sean so well for P1, we must as well continue with it for Sara.
