run of bad luck

I sent our Indo maid, Yani, back to the agent yesterday…you must be thinking… again???. Since Ivy and Emma left last Dec, we are having a run of bad luck in hiring maids. We had changed 4 maids within this short span of time.

Yani came to our place two weeks ago. Three days into the job, she told me she wants to go home. I sent her to the agent, she returned to work for us after the agent council her. A day later, she told me that she does not want to work again. This time, we had intended to keep her till our new helper arrives in two weeks time. Other than ironing, Yani just laze around at home. We let her be since she will be going off soon.

Yesterday, my mom called me while I was at work…. She told me to ‘get rid’ of Yani immediately…. My mom has been tolerating Yani till this incident….. Shayne was burnt by the iron as Yani left it on. To make matter worst, Yani did not tell anyone and applied Sara’s diaper rash cream on his hand!!! Wow, my mom actually freaks out when she found out from my dad….. On hind sight, I should have returned her to the agent the minute she said she does not want to work.

Guess why Yani doesn’t want to work … she told me that her M’sia boyfriend in M’sia will pay the outstanding loan and she will marry him and live happily ever after in M’sia…*sigh* . So we are left with one helper…. stranded again… need a helper almost immediately. I have no choice but to engage another transfer maid. But, not so much of a transfer as her ex-employer wants to send her back after working here for a year. She has to go to back and re-apply again. She will be in next Tues.

I am thinking…. how to break this run of back luck in hiring maids……???
