Hot chocolate and cheesecake

At 5+ years old, Sean is really a food connoisseur. He told me that this cheesecake and hot chocolate in TCC is better than the ones in CSC. Ya, this cheesecake is really good.

While waiting for food to be served, I normally get him to practice his spelling. Recently, I do not have much time with him as Sara demands a lot of my time. Taught him spelling over coffee and cakes. Teacher Millie told me that Sean has a very good English foundation. He understands instructions well, did his comprehension with ease and teaches his classmates who are weaker. This year, his K2 class is small - 6 students only. So I suppose he’ll benefit from it. At K2, guess what is in their syllabus?….. creative writing, comprehension, spelling and dictation. Wow, years back, dictation is only expected at P3. Tough huh?

Working hard on his spelling.

We will be going back to KL for CNY this Friday. Wish all of you out there...... A very happy CNY from our family to yours.

15.1

I spoke to Teacher Millie today. Gathered from her that the boys are doing relatively well in school. Sean speaks up and participate in class. According to her, Sean is alright in academic aspect. We need to work on his emotional development with regard to confidence level. He needs re-assurance from teachers all the time.

Sean appears to be a perfectionist, Teacher Millie said that Sean erased his perfectly alright comprehension answer and re-write it..... as the answers previously written were not ‘nice’ looking. He can appreciate aesthetic at this age? That’s from me, I always tell him to write in straight line. Perhaps I must change my approach.

Now Shayne…. His result from N1, 2nd term, was good. at least his achievement is much higher than our expectations. The comments from the teachers are not too bad. All teachers claimed that Shayne is a bright boy. His previous Bs are all As now. But still a few Bs and a C for creativity. Huh…. Why these two boys are not creative… I’m wondering if it is due to me. I want them to conform and mould them as such???

Teacher Millie told me that Shayne is more difficult to manage as compared to Sean, but that is ok. +She assured me immediately+. The other day, when his teacher Xue ask him not to talk and concentrate in completing his work, guess what is his answer to the teacher? … he replied : “ I DON’T CARE.” Look at that character…. I have a lot of work to do…..

On the bright side, Teacher Millie said that Shayne is a boy full of compassion. He looks after the younger ones in school. Wonder why he always fight with Sara?

Sara, she is showing flashes of defiance, her temperament is exactly like his brother Shayne, if not -worst. Defiance - I suppose it is a natural tendency for her age. At 15 months, I must introduce my realistic and well understood rules to her now. She is very mature for her age, I reckoned she will understand.

My brother told me yesterday that Sara manage to call him : “Jiu Jiu” . She walked around the house and kept calling “Jiu Jiu”. I suppose when we go back to KL for CNY next week, she will be able to call “Gu gu”. As for “Pak Pak”, she has already mastered that already. My SIL took great care of Sara and the boys these past one month. So thankful for her being around as we sort out our helpers problems. My SIL is going back this Sunday…. Have to get for her an appreciation gift. Not much time to get it and will bring it back to KL next week for her.

Some photos of Sara taken yesterday…..

The duration she sits on this pony - 1 minute at most.

She likes to play peek-a-boo with us.

Peek-a-boo .... she appears from ....behind the curtain.

Have a great day to all.

Sara is adorable

Whenever we (Surfin, Claire and myself) gathered for lunch, Claire always describes the joy of having a boy and Surfin the happiness of having a girl.…. Claire has Owen and Surfin has Nicole. Well, I love my children equally. But when it comes to being adorable......to be honest, Sara is more adorable than the two boys, for the time being, I suppose.

Sara is very mischievous. These are what she is up to these days….

She throws an item on the floor, she’ll say “ Drop” .

She likes bubbles and says… “Bubbo” when the boys blow bubble towards her direction.

She say goodbye by blowing kisses.

She loves stars…. and goes… :”Star.. STar… STAr …STAR…”. Followed by dancing Twinkle twinkle little star actions.

When she wakes up in the night, she’ll kept calling for her “Barney” followed by “Mama”.

If she does not want the milk I gave her, she’ll say “Hot”.

When she walks into a room without lights, she say “dark dark”.

If she refuses to sleep, she screams…” UP”.

TV time, she’ll ask for “ Wa wa” – it means.. on TV.

She learnt, head and shoulder, knees and toes from Barney show. She touch her mouth and say “mout”.

She enjoys looking at all sorts of kittens and cats…. last night she pointed to a lion on the book and said “cat”….

When she is scare, she says “scare” and places one of her hands on her chest.

All these are her baby language at 15 months old.

Ya, how can she be so adorable huh?

Deep in thoughts....

Sara @ 14 months old

Our sweetie is 14 months old.

Weight: 11.5 kg
Height : 81cm
- likes bird, cats and dogs. I suppose these are the birds and animals she sees everyday.

- Very close to me. I am taking care of her at night now as the new helper is not in yet. I suppose she will continue to sleep in our room as whenever she cries in the night, I must be around to soothe her down.

- she fights with Shayne and hugs Sean. I suppose it is the age difference. Shayne is a competitor to her whereas Sean is a lovely brother to her. She loves to rest her head on Sean biggie stomach. She knows exactly which specific toy belongs to her. Whenever Shayne touches her toys, she’ll demand it back. Very interesting to watch the way she ‘communicate” . When Shayne bullies her, she normally raised her voice accompanied by “No, No, Noooo”.

- Her vocab and word repertoire is increasing each day. She understands what her brothers tell her. Words she says… bird, wow o ( dog), Kity (cat), Mama, Papa, Mma (grandma), scare, nana (banana), Tata ( brother) , Hua (flower), star… that’s all I remember now.

- Shape she know: Star. That is the first shape she learnt – whenever she sees a star object, she turns to me and says star. During our night stroll, she looks up to the sky and find the bright star. This bright star is always there at the same location.

- She does not like holding on to us when she walks. These few days, she started to run after her brothers. She barely can walk steadily…..

- She likes action songs…. Barney I love you, Insy Winsy Spider, Wheel on the bus, three little ducklings,

- She knows which action will make us laugh and keeps repeating them.

- Likes to roll around in her cot every night before she sleeps. Where she learn that from… the kitty she saw???

- Getting cuter and more adorable every . single. day.

She walks..... then....

she stops.... cos' it is a ramp.

Monday updates

The boys start their new school term. Sean happily announced to everyone that he is in K2. As for Shayne, there is still a big problem, he crises and refuses to go into the school every morning. He starts school at 18 months but till today he is still apprehensive of school. Why??? So we reckoned, Sara will only go to school after 2 years old. Don't get her exposed to school system at such a tender age.

The teacher in Twinkle Star told me that they have to adopt another method of teaching Shayne phonics as the conventional way is not helping him much. ah??? See, middle kid is really different huh?. These few week, Shayne is relatively co-operative as he listens to the night time story reading and participate in my questions and answers sessions. A good start for the year.

We are in the midst of settling and getting the right helpers….. Sad to say, our Filipino helper’s work performance is way below par…can’t meet our expectations (by the way, don’t be alarmed… our expectations are really not high). She is rather slow in her work….however, we can tolerate that. The main issue is she cannot handle Sara. She cannot shower or feed Sara. I reprimanded her as during the interview, she told me confidently that she can handle a one year old girl. She told me sorry and wanted me to sent her home. I was really mad with her and had wanted to send her to the agent on the spot. After second thought, since she has already changed three employers, I’ll give her another chance. My SIL has been great; she is taking care of Sara when we are at work. She bath, feed and plays with her.

We employed another Filipino helper to take care of Sara instead. This new helper graduated from midwife course and is experience in taking care of babies and children. This time we must be specific. She must be experience in child care. She will be coming over end of this week. So, back to square one…. We are going to have two Filipino helpers again. Our previous Indo helper cannot pass her exam and she decided not to work in Singapore.

Have a great week ahead.

Hello 2009

Hello 2009. I know this year will be great for all. New Year = new resolutions… my new year resolution….. is to be a more hands-on mom ( not that I’m not hand-on, just need to be more involve). Without our previous two helpers, with three kids of two years age gap, I recognized that is really not easy being a mom to 3 kids. I often wonder how my mom managed 5 kids…. I suppose it’s the patience she has, which I’m lacking.

Took this photo before going out. Look at Shayne, he wanted to hold on to Sara too... but Sean is doing it. Sara plays with Sean well and somehow fights with Shayne....

Left the two brothers to argue, she wondered off happily.

Went to Kino to get some quilting and craft books. By the way, I love to buy craft books as I like to view the pretty pictures and wondering when I have the time to try them out... I need to organize and find more time for myself. The boys ran to the fountain once we reached there. Sara slept for a good 45 minutes.

They like water fountain. Sara took her nap.

Sean needs his regular exercise regime, brought the boys to run in the evening and as for Sara, she investigated the grass, stones and footpath print. They end the fun day playing in the playground.

Brothers

Wheeeeee...........

She waves to everyone in the park.

Picked that up from My Gym lesson.

We tried to get the three of them to take a photo together. Not a perfect shot, but somehow it captured the memories of their fun together. This is Sara 1st time on the slide, and she loves it. She kept circulating around this slide and wanting us to bring her up to the top.
